Rejuran is the newest technology for skin rejuvenation, utilising polynucleotides, which are DNA fragments derived from salmon. Rejuran encourages rejuvenation of skin and improvements in skin quality. Rejuran is injected into the treatment area, working as a biostimulator, meaning the body’s natural healing processes are triggered to produce collagen and elastin. Rejuran helps restore a natural, youthful texture and beauty to your skin, enhancing elasticity and hydration.
When you make your first Rejuran appointment, you’ll begin with a consult with a treating nurse, who will discuss the areas to be treated and all the relevant information you’ll require. You’ll then have a topical numbing cream applied to the area, which needs to be left on the skin for one hour, during which you can relax in one of our private patient waiting rooms. The treatment will then take place, lasting between 30-45 minutes. Most patient require 2-3 treatments, spaced a month apart, to achieve optimal results. Results are gradual, becoming fully apparent across the course of treatments (up to three months) and will keep improving for 6-12 months.
Do not wear make-up on the day of treatment, including lipstick, mascara or sunscreen. Avoid taking any un-prescribed medication that may thin the blood, such as anti- inflammatories, for 2 weeks prior to treatment, as these raise the risk of bruiding.
Ice packs are applied to the treated area immediately after treatment, and for 24 hours, to help reduce swelling. Excessive massage, high temperature environments (saunas), alcohol and strenuous exercise should all be avoided for up to several days. Make-up can be used immediately after treatment. Shaving can occur the following morning.
- Improves skin elasticity and firmness
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Enhances skin hydration and texture
- Can help improve the appearance of scars
- Brightens and revitalizes the skin

- Minor flaking, dryness or peeling
- Scabs may form but will healing and fall within a few days
- Bruising at the site of injection, usually small and resolved within 1-2 weeks
- Pain at injection site, very normal immediately after treatment, and well managed with oral analgesia.
- Injury to small blood vessel, resulting in scabbing and scarring. Very rare.
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation – temporary darkening of the skin, lasting from a few weeks to 12 months and can resolve independently or fading cream can be prescribed.

What does Rejuran treatment feel like?
Rejuran is injected in a position and manner that will give optimal aesthetic improvement to the area of concern. Discomfort during the treatment varies amongst individuals. For most patient, minimal discomfort is experienced during the injections
as topical anaesthetic cream (Emla) and oral analgesia has been utilised. We also use ice during the treatment to help limit discomfort and bruising.
