In this short and welcoming consultation, Dr Marianne Nolan with advise patients on the use of lasers and cosmetic injectables to treat signs of sun damage and aging. You'll receive treatment options tailored to your skin concerns, skin type and your available downtime. This consult does not include any treatments, though the possibility of undergoing a recommended treatment immediately after the consult may exist, depending on treatment and existing patient bookings, but this cannot be guaranteed. Treatment costs not included in consult cost.
During this consultation you will have the opportunity to raise your concerns around your skin's aging, wrinkles, texture, pigmentation and redness, or any other cosmetic concern. Dr Nolan will discuss options available to you for treatment of those concerns, providing you with all the information you'll need to make an informed decision about whether each treatment is right for you.
This unhurried consult provides patients with the time and attention of a highly experienced cosmetic doctor, resulting in a clear and empowered understanding of facial rejuvenation options.
Please note: this is not a skin check. If you would like a skin check, separately or at the same visit, please call our receptionists and request both consults. Skin checks must be performed by Dr Terence Poon, our dermatologist, and will incur an additional fee.
Please arrive at your consult with no make-up or sunscreen on the areas you would like reviewed. Please allow time to remove make-up before the consult, if you need to wear it beforehand.
It's also appreciated if you could bring a list of prior skin treatments, whether medical or cosmetic.

This consult is designed to deliver patients with a comprehensive, clear understanding of what treatment options are available to treat their skin concerns, taking into consideration each patient's unique skin type, condition, other factors that may affect treatments and more.
You'll be able to plan future treatments and have an opportunity to have your questions answered and concerns addressed. You'll gain an understanding of the benefits and limits of each treatment, including any downtime, cost, number of treatments required and other important information.

Is this consult for tattoo removal or laser hair removal enquiries?
No. This consult is only for cosmetic improvement concerns. We have complimentary consults available for both tattoo removal and laser hair removal enquiries. If you would like to book both a cosmetic consult with Dr Nolan and a complimentary consult for either tattoo or hair removal, please mention this to our receptionists when you call to make your booking, as we will schedule them back-to-back, for your convenience.
How long is a cosmetic consult?
We allow 30 minutes for this consult, however it may be quicker, depending on your skin concerns and the appropriate treatments available. You're free to ask as many questions as you'd like, about any number of skin concerns, while in the consult - do note, however, that this is not a medical skin check and Dr Marianne Nolan will refer you for a skin check, to Dr Terence Poon, if you have any skin concerns of a medical nature. Skin checks with Dr Poon incur a separate fee.
Can I have a treatment on the same day as my consult?
Sometimes it may be possible to have a treatment on the same day as your consult. This depends on what the treatment is, how busy our clinic is on that day, and whether there is time enough left in the day to complete the treatment. We do our best to accommodate patients who wish to have a same-day treatment but we cannot guarantee that this will be possible.
Do I have to proceed with treatment after the consult?
No. This consult is designed to give you information on treatment options that may improve your skin concerns. You're free to take that information away to consider which, if any, is right for you.
How much does a cosmetic consult cost?
The consult cost is $198 (including GST). There is no medicare or private health insurance rebates for this consult.

Dr. Terence Poon is the medical director of Neutral Bay Laser & Dermatology Clinic. He is a dermatologist and laser specialist. He has trained extensively in Australia and internationally, in the laser-responsive cosmetic aspects of dermatology.
He undertook a fellowship with Dr Jim Walter, who pioneered the use of lasers in dermatology in Australia and who founded our clinic, which was the first full time laser dermatology clinic in Sydney.

Dr Marianne Nolan has been with the clinic for over two decades and is very experienced in all aspects of laser treatments and related cosmetic procedures. Her meticulous record of safety and competence has earned her a huge following of dedicated cosmetic skin care patients, who also enjoy warm, caring manner. She trained extensively with our founder, Dr James Walter, and has attended regular training programmes and conferences in Australia, Europe and the USA. Together with Dr Walter, she is co-developer of our bespoke rejuvenation treatments, the Walter Nolan Multi-Laser Procedures.

Dr Helena Torpinski has been with our clinic for nearly two decades. Her bright and lively manner continues to ensure she is popular with our patients. Helena works as a GP in Newtown when she is not at our clinic and this adds a great breadth of knowledge and understanding to her engagement with patients. She has expertise in all forms of laser and light-based treatments and has a commitment to ongoing education, training and regular conference attendance.
