Cosmetic consult with a cosmetic nurse Treatment Overview

In this relaxed and friendly consult, one of our senior cosmetic registered nurses will advise patients on the use of cosmetic injectables and laser/light based treatments, to treat cosmetic skin concerns, such as those resulting from sun damage and aging. Patients will receive a tailored treatment plan, based on your skin concerns, skin type and budget. This consult does not include any treatments. However, time has been allowed for certain injectable treatments to be delivered within the 45 mins. Other, more lengthy treatments, may be possible on the day, depending on the clinic schedule and availability of rooms/treatment machines.

Consult fee will be deducted from the price of treatment, if treatment is conducted within 6 weeks of the consult.

What To Expect Before Cosmetic consult with a cosmetic nurse

During this relaxed consult you’ll have the opportunity to raise your skin concerns, including aging, wrinkles, texture, pigmentation and redness, fullness/plumpness and youthfulness. Your cosmetic nurse will discuss treatment options, providing you with all the information you’ll need to make an informed decision about which treatment option is right for you.

This unhurried consult provides patients with the time and attention of a highly experienced cosmetic nurse, giving you a clear and empowered understanding of the treatment options available to you.

Please note: this is not a medical skin check. If the nurse identifies anything on your skin that looks concerning and requires a medical doctor check, this may be possible in the same visit, if our dermatologist has space in his schedule to seek you. A skin check may incur an addition fee which will not be deducted from treatment cost.

Cosmetic consult with a cosmetic nurse FAQs

What will happen if the nurse identifies something on my skin that is medically concerning?

If something medically concerning is identified on your skin, the nurse may request that you see our dermatologist for a full skin check. You may have the opportunity to do this on the day of your consult, but this will depend on the dermatologist’s schedule. The skin check with the doctor will incur his usual consult fee of $365. This will attract a Medicare rebate of $21. If you prefer, you can see your GP for a referral, return on another day for the skin check, with the referral, and that consult will attract an $81 rebate from Medicare. You are also welcome to see your preferred dermatologist for a skin check, and request correspondence be sent to us outlining the results of their review of your skin, to confirm it is suitable for treatment.

Occasionally, the nurse may ask the dermatologist to offer a quick skin review before certain treatments. This is part of their duty of care and does not indicate that they have detected anything medically concerning. This quick review by the dermatologist will not attract any fee.

Is this consult for tattoo removal or laser hair removal enquiries?

No. While these concerns can be raised in this consult, we offer complimentary consults for both tattoo removal and laser hair removal, with nurses. If you would like to discuss either of these options, as well as having a cosmetic consult, you’re welcome to raise these concerns, but this will not affect the cost of your cosmetic consult, which is $110 (including GST).

How long is a cosmetic consult with a nurse?

We allow 45 minutes for this consult but it may not take this long, as we have allowed time a short treatment to be delivered during the consult, if this is recommended by the nurse and desired by the patient. The consult without one of these shorter treatment is more likely to be closer to 30 mins.

Can I have a treatment on the same day as my consult?

No. This consult is a stand-alone option, designed to provide you with information. You’re free to take that information away with you, to consider which, if any, treatment option is right for you.

The cost of the consult ($110) will be deducted from any treatment you choose to undertake, within 6 weeks of the initial consult date.

How much does a cosmetic consult with a nurse cost?

The consult is $110 (including GST). There is no medicare rebate or private health insurance coverage for this consult.
