Bio Remodelling Treatment Overview

Bio-remodelling is a group of treatments that aim to improve skin quality, supporting hydration, elasticity and texture, rather than adding volume or changing your features. It works with your skin’s natural processes to support collagen and elastin, with results that develop gradually over a course of treatments.

Unlike volumising treatments, bio-remodelling does not fill lines or add contour; the focus is on the overall health, firmness and glow of the skin. Common areas include the face, neck, hands and décolletage.

At your consultation, our dermatologist or cosmetic nurse will assess your skin, explain what is involved and, if it is a suitable option, plan your treatment with you.

What To Expect Before Bio Remodelling

Results build gradually and are usually seen over a course of treatments spaced a few weeks apart, with occasional maintenance. Your practitioner will outline a plan suited to your skin at your consultation. Results and their duration vary between individuals.

How To Prepare for Bio Remodelling Treatment

Avoid wearing any make-up and sunscreen, on the day of your appointment. Try not to take medications that thin your blood, such as anti-inflammatories, for two weeks before treatment, as this can increase the chance of bruising.

It’s also recommended to avoid having a COVID vaccination two weeks before or after your treatment. Being mindful of these steps helps reduce potential side effects like swelling or bruising and ensure that your skin responds well.

Bio Remodelling Aftercare

After treatment, your skin may be slightly red or swollen, which usually settles within a day. Ice packs should be applied intermittently over the first 24 hours to help reduce swelling and bruising. Make-up can be applied immediately, but it’s best to avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, or heat for the rest of the day.

Once your skin has healed, always use SPF50+ sunscreen to protect your results and maintain your skin’s health. Avoiding a COVID vaccination for two weeks after treatment is also recommended. With the right aftercare, most patients experience minimal downtime and can enjoy smoother, firmer skin almost immediately.

Bio Remodelling We Recommend

Bio Remodelling treatments are suitable for most adults looking to improve overall skin quality and hydration. To get started, patients need to book either a free consultation with our senior nurse, or a cosmetic consultation with Dr Marianne Nolan ($220). Both consultations include a personalised skin assessment and a tailored treatment plan based on your skin goals. We will try to arrange treatment on the same day, where possible. However, as a busy clinic this cannot always be guaranteed. Same-day treatment is often easier to accommodate when booking with our nurse.

Bio Remodelling FAQs

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is a bio-reabsorbable hyaluronic acid gel that hydrates, supports, and improves the quality of your skin. It’s designed to refresh your face and enhance your natural contours without changing your face structure.

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo is made from a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in your skin that helps retain moisture and support structure. When injected into specific points on the face, neck, or hands, Profhilo spreads beneath the skin rather than staying in one spot like traditional fillers.

This spreading action hydrates the skin deeply, reaching areas that are often difficult to target with other treatments. At the same time, it stimulates your skin’s natural repair mechanisms.

Who is a good candidate for Profhilo treatment?

Profhilo is suitable for adults wanting to improve skin hydration, reduce fine lines, and enhance facial support. It’s particularly helpful for early signs of ageing or for those looking for a more natural yet refreshed look.

What areas can be treated with Profhilo?

The face, neck, and hands are the most common treatment areas. Treatments can also be customised to target other areas where skin support or hydration is needed.

How soon will I see results from Profhilo?

Most people notice subtle improvements after the second treatment in the series. Full results, including smoother and more radiant skin, appear gradually over several weeks.

How long does Profhilo last?

Results from the initial 2–3 treatments can last 1–2 years. Maintenance sessions every 4–6 months help maintain skin hydration and firmness.

Does Profhilo treatment hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before treatment for comfort. Most patients report a mild sting during injections. Ice packs and oral analgesics are available if needed.

Are there any risks with Profhilo?

Mild bruising, swelling, or redness is common and usually resolves quickly. Rare side effects include lumps, delayed swelling, or skin discolouration, which generally resolve within weeks.

How much does Profhilo cost in Sydney?

Initial consultation with Dr Nolan costs $220. An initial consultation with Rachel Wilson, our senior nurse, is free. Your first two Profhilo injections are $900 each, a third session if needed is $800, and maintenance treatments are $800 each. Prices are subject to change. All prices include GST.

What results can I expect from Profhilo before and afters?

Profhilo gradually improves hydration, elasticity, and skin tone. You can expect subtle facial contouring, smoother skin, and a natural glow.

Why choose a medical clinic for Profhilo?

Our medical and dermatological training and experience  means we can deliver treatments based on superior knowledge of skin anatomy and medical safety. Having your Profhilo treatment performed in a medical setting reduces risks and ensures natural-looking, long-lasting results.
