What Is Bio-Remodelling and What Is It Used For?

Bio-remodellers are skin treatments that improve skin quality by boosting hydration and stimulating collagen and elastin production. Unlike similar products that focus on adding volume, bioremodellers don’t add volume but work to enhance skin texture, firmness, and elasticity. Common treatment areas include the face, neck, hands, and décolletage, with results developing gradually after a series of treatments.

If you’ve been researching the latest skin treatments, chances are you’ve come across bio-remodeller treatments in your searches. They’re popular because they’re are designed to improve skin quality rather than dramatically change how you look. That sounds great, but these treatments are commonly misunderstood.

This blog explains what bio-remodelling treatment actually is, how it works within the skin, and what it’s commonly used for. The aim is to help you understand the basics, so you can decide whether it’s something worth exploring further.

What Are Bio-remodellers?

At its core, bio-remodelling is a treatment that uses a gel-like product, delivered beneath the skin, that helps improve the overall appearance and feel of the skin. They boost skin hydration and stimulate your body’s own production of collagen and elastin.

That’s why it’s often referred to as a skin treatment rather than a typical volumiser. It doesn’t fill deep lines or sculpt features. Instead, its focus is on improving skin quality from within.

How bio-remodelling Works

Bio-remodelling agents are delivered just beneath the surface of the skin. Once in place, the product spreads out smoothly through the tissues, encouraging long-term hydration and support to the skin’s structural fibres.

This approach helps with slower-to-heal, dehydrated, or ageing skin by encouraging the natural processes that keep skin firm, smooth, and elastic. Over time, these effects can make skin look and feel healthier, without dramatically altering your features.

What Do Bio-remodellers Do?

Now that you have an understanding of what bio-remodelling treatment is and how it works within your skin, you may be curious to understand what it can do and how it can help your skin. Results vary from person to person, but some of the benefits people see are:

  • Deeply hydrate the skin by attracting and holding moisture
  • Support collagen and elastin production for firmer, more resilient skin
  • Improve skin texture and elasticity
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines caused by dehydration
  • Improve overall skin quality without adding fullness or volume

Because it works with your skin’s natural processes, many patients describe the result as an improvement in skin quality rather than a dramatic transformation that you would sometimes get from volumisers.

Where Is bio-remodelling Used On The Body?

While bio-remodelling face treatment is one of the most popular applications, the benefits of this treatment aren’t limited to the face alone. Common other areas include:

  • Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Hands
  • Upper arms

Each of these areas can benefit from improved hydration and support for collagen and elastin, particularly as these areas of the body often show the earliest signs of ageing or loss of elasticity.

How Long Does Bio-remodelling Treatment Last?

The results of bio-remodelling treatment don’t show up overnight, and that’s very much part of its appeal. Oftentimes, results are unlikely to be noticed after the first treatment. Rather than a sudden “done” look, improvements tend to build slowly as collagen and elastin production is stimulated. Skin often feels firmer and smoother.

How long results last will vary depending on things like your age, skin condition and lifestyle, but the effects of bio-remodelling skin treatment can last up to 1-2 years after the initial 2-3 treatments. Because it works by encouraging your skin to regenerate itself, results tend to fade gently over time rather than disappearing all at once, something many people really like about bio-remodelling.

What is The Bio-remodelling Treatment Process Like?

Generally speaking, when you arrive for your bio-remodelling treatment, numbing cream will be applied to the area being treated to keep you as comfortable as possible.

The bio-remodeller delivery takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on the area or areas being treated. Once the treatment is finished, you’ll be asked to stick around for at least 10 minutes while icing the area, just to help settle any swelling. All up, it’s a fairly unrushed appointment and you should allow around two hours from start to finish.

Most people are recommended a course of two to three bio-remodeller treatments, spaced about four weeks apart, to achieve the best results. After that, maintenance treatments every four to six months can help prolong the benefits and keep skin looking hydrated, firm and refreshed.

How To Know if Bio-remodelling is Right For You?

Bio-remodelling is often a good fit for people who feel like their skin just isn’t looking the way it used to. Rather than creating volume or changing facial shape, treatment focuses on improving overall skin quality, which is why it’s popular with those wanting more subtle, natural-looking results.

Many people who choose bio-remodelling are curious about improving their appearance but don’t want anything obvious or dramatic. Knowing what bio-remodelling does, and just as importantly, what it doesn’t do, can help set realistic expectations. A personalised consultation is the best way to work out whether bio-remodelling skin treatment is right for you.
